Framing size, spacing, connections, and load paths come from a project-specific design and applicable code. Ask the engineer or designer to review proposed substitutions rather than relying on a product that appears similar.
Coordinate openings early
Doors, windows, mechanical routes, and stairs affect framing. Resolve dimensions and equipment locations before work is covered. A late change can touch several trades and the inspection schedule.
Record field changes
If site conditions require a structural change, document the design professional’s direction and any revised approval needed. Save photographs of work before finishes conceal it.
Check the sequence
Framing inspections may occur before insulation or drywall. Confirm which stages require sign-off and who will request inspection before the next trade starts.
